From: Andrew Cunningham

Here, for those who care, is my own BJs deck, which placed 9th, I think, at the Brum tourney (but then I didn't think much of the scoring system, considering that Andrew S placed way above me and I beat him... Control/inf is a better tiebreak IMHO. It's also the direct descendant of my Gencon UK deck, with a bundle of changes but the same overall structure and theme.

Actions: 10
AC Only Winged 'Em
AC Only Winged 'Em
AC Only Winged 'Em
2C Start Again
2C Start Again
8C Jackelope Stampede
8C Kidnapping
8C Kidnapping
8C Kidnapping
JC Shallow Grave

Justifications: Only Winged Em does harroweds and mad scientists in, and helps protect my boys from Flight of Angels and Ezzie. Also plays out of my hand easily- I can always send a monkey off to get killed and use it :) There's really too many 8Cs, I think that dropping a Kidnapping would be appropriate now that I've seen how nastily the Dingos, William Rose and Jason work. I may replace one with an Ambush or Arson.

Deeds:
AD The Lode
2D Red Hill Hotel
2D Shootin' Range
4D Graveyard
JD Bat's Breath Mine
JD Bottleneck Mine
JD Look Homeward Mine

Fairly self explanatory- all either useful Cp or non-playable JDs. Also the worst culprit at hand-clogging... Not really any way round other than to speed up the circulating of the 8s and Aces to compensate...

Goods:
7H Jack's Left Shooter
7H Screamers
7H Screamers
9H Jack's Right Shooter
9H Wild Dingos
9H Wild Dingos
JH Double Barrelled Shotgun
JH Double Barrelled Shotgun
KH Rachel's Sidearm

Also self-explanatory-Screamers to bust NFS, and to foil other tricks such as Clean Getaway, Ignore 'Im, Whip, and MS nastiness. Dingos and the Left Shooter to start fights, Cannons to stop them. I'm still not comfortable with the 3 7Hs and 9Hs, but see no way round it- I've considered dropping the Left Shooter, but it's just too cool- I'm willing to sacrifice a little power for style, and one thing's for sure, Andrew did not appreciate when Spike Dougan exp with both Shooters came a knockin'... Also, these cards tend to hit play or stay in my hand, so the cheatin' risk decreases fast.

Dudes:
AS Alfred Barkum Jr
AS Dirt-Face Figueroa
AS Dirt-Face Figueroa

4S Jordan Caldwell

4S Wendigo Garrison (inexp)
5S Flint Parker
6S Ely Parker
6S Peter Motambu

8S Andrew Garret
8S Sam Horowitz exp
8S Skunky Swade

9S Andra Miles
9S Eddie Bellows
9S Jason "The Kid" Jung
10S Darren Titus (inexp)
JS Spike Dougan exp
QS Rachel Sumner exp2
KS Blackjack exp2

Starting dudes vary wildly... But usually it's Andra, Jason, Flint and Lawrence. This has some downsides- both shooters are 9s, and only 3 inf... But it also has lots of bullets and a callout. Against Sweetrock I used Andra, Andrew garret, and I think Alfred Barkum JR and Lawrence Goodman? Something like that... I could also start Andra, Vic exp, Andrew and Lawrence for 5 inf and an annoying move ability :) Against Hedley I used Jason, William Rose exp, and some others... Basically, I approach each game with an open mind and an eye on the outfit card.

Now, obviously there's 4 of both the aces and eights of spades, and 3 of some others, but the dudes are chosen for the cards rather than the values. They should hit play fast too, reducing the risks there, and give me a dependable flush on turn one in a shootout... Not great, but usually enough at that point.

It's really quite a standard BJs original deck, all the good BJs and some fightin' cards. It's pretty solid though, more a workhorse than a sprinter, and that often pays off in the later game. What is quite bad is that it cheats a fair bit in later lowballs, but that can be countered with hand-control of values.

And all it does is play dudes and invade my opponent's personal space in a really impolite way :) And if I decide to allow the deck to develop rather than getting in rapid fights (as killed me against the Sioux, d'oh!) it's hard to beat a very reliable DMH with shotgun backup, and so many monkeys to soak hits that it hurts...

Well, like I say, it's not perfect and not too inspired, but it works :)
