Doomtown UK Championship winning deck - Braveheart by Steve Wallace

BRAVEHEART

by Steve Wallace

This is the deck which Steve used to win the UK Doomtown 2001 Championship at Gencon UK. In the final, his starting dudes were Alfred Barkum Jr, Andrew Garret, Peter Motambu and William Rose (exp), providing 5 influence, 1 ghost rock and a net income of 1.

The usual strategy will be to make ghost rock with the home ability and spend this to bring out more dudes and goods. Pick off targets of opportunity with Kidnapping and Arson. When a good posse has been formed, you can expect to get straight flushes in clubs in shootouts. Use No Funny Stuff to prevent the opposition's tricks and use Blackjack himself to make sure you do this first. Eventually you hope to get out The Lode and then use this to force a win.

The deck's name is doubly fitting. Steve lives in Scotland where his namesake, William Wallace, inspired the film of the same name. And the deck contains many hearts which will also inspire the Blackjacks to great deeds of bravery. It's easy to be bold when you have Kenny at your side to catch the bullets which were meant for you!
