Hey all,
This is the Gahid deck I took to a tournament (10-12 player double elim)
a couple weekends ago. I took second, and now have Crown of Command and Cloak
of Protection for my troubles.
Characters: 27 (*# denotes starting and # starting)
1 Lord Gahid Rellion *1
3 Baudwyn Troubadour *2
3 Squire Kelanor *1
2 Sir Euain
2 Lady Beatrix *1
3 Rhydin *1
3 Bishop Koenrad
2 SS-saurth
3 The Beast Knight
3 Count Damien
2 Master Anandale
Items: 15
3 Ring of Vorn
3 Warhorse
3 Bruntor's Helm
3 Full Plate
2 Riding Horse
1 Handaxe
Actions: 12
3 Meet at the Inn
3 Leveled!
3 Charge
3 Loyalty's Reward
Total of 54 cards.
Notes.. The Handaxe is the only meta card, as I hate playing against clerics.
Replace with a third Riding Horse.
The starting line-up has a great second rank. a 15 AC Rhydin holds the Ring of
Vorn better than anyone else, and the heavy hitters (Damien and Anandale) are
up front fast with Vorn, Charge, Warhorse, and Riding Horse.
Meet and Loyalty's Reward get either the movement cards or the heavy hitters
into your hand so they can be ready for turn 2. Leveled is just nice because
you have a lot of Lvl 2's in the deck.
The deck takes a bit to set up, but is powah when it is. I knew Rathe would be
present in abundance, and was ready for him. Anandale stayed straight in the
front rank to spend Rathe when he moves up, and then my unspent Damien slices
him up. Koenrad is the biggest target, as he makes Anandale hard to hit. So,
the opponent always goes after Koenrad, leaving Anandale and Damien alone,
while your little guys whack on his front line, so Damien, Anandale, and Gahid
can finish the rank breaking.
Rhydin with the Ring of Vorn, and SS-saurth, also become big targets, again
diverting hits from Damien and Anandale. I'll gladly send any of them up front
to split hits from my main guys. :)
The only losses I had were against a Xod deck. I just couldn't get the rolls
to kill his multi-wound, high-AC guys..
