Warlord Decks on the Duck

    From Joshua Brown (TOL-Jobr)

Location : Mad Hatters-Lubbock TX, Big Apple Comics-Amarillo Tx
I've used this deck, or versions of it, to win multiple tournaments (at least 5) in both Lubbock and Amarillo TX, some having near 20 players.

    Characters:
    lvl 5
    Modred (starting WL)
    Gahid
    Sir Rhawn
    Duchess
Loth (only in for the last tourny won)
    Halveder
    Kerebrus

    lvl 4
3xAnnandale (React: "you can wait another turn to attack")
    3x Duke Logranth
    3xSir Magnus
    3xChristopher(aka the elf/wizard sniper killer)
    3xCardinal Scelus
1xDashkova (keeps a mass blessed stormcrows alive, or negates a lucky hit on a high AC)

    lvl 3
    Torenx2

    lvl 2
    2x Lady Melagrance
    1x Stormcrows
(starters vary depending on other army)

    lvl 1
    3xBaudwyns

    Items:

3xSignons armor(one for Modred is all thats needed, but verses magic, elves, or Logan its too important not to draw in a turn or two, extras go to Kerby or Toren)

    3xBoOP
    3xBPoP
    2xFull Plate
    2xBruntors helm
    2xTears of the Storm
1xHammer of Peronor(for Modred vs good, for Kerby vs evil)
    3xGriffon
1xRiding Horse (yup a riding horse-put it on Modred if you have a spare Cardinal in the back ranks-I've won several key games charging Modred with his Hammer and BoOP forward at the end of turn, only to quickly pull him back to the second rank with a cardinal--but if you arent feeling brave, stick it on a lvl 4 or 5 to help get em to the front faster)
1xLaw Hammer(easier to play then you might think)

    Actions:
    3xCure Lethal
    1(2x)x Banish the Wound
1(2x)x Steel to Serpent (Watch that Kingslady wielding Xod cry when Modred decked in his Bracers of Ogre Power, holding the Hammer of Peronor dishes out a quick four wounds--all from a cleric in the second rank!?!?!)....:)
2xDISTRUST (the best underrated card in the game--though primarily used as a meta card vs Superfriends, Vorgrun, or Toren in a Behlial deck, In todays tournament scene almost EVERYONE runs an out of alignment character or two in their decks--dont be afraid to add a third if its working good in your scene)
    3xMass Blessings (obligatory)

Yes its BIG, but trust me it works. Anywhere from 58-62 cards depending on my mood. The reason numbers arent exact is because I've won many tournaments with only slight variations to this deck, and want to encompass it all under "one" deck idea. And yes its VERY rare intensive, so certainly not a deck I would reccomend for a newcommer. I've included some strategy as to how to play it, but the most important thing I can say is know your opposition, know the cards he has access to, and play like you know he has three of each of those in his hand. Finally, dont play this deck if your rounds are under 30 minutes long. It starts a little slow, but almost ALWAYS wins if you can survive to turn 3-4. If you see a blitz comming, start the crows, and dont be afraid to send Modred to the Front if needed. If you see a player building, keep Gahid or Rhawn back a turn or two and build them. Xod cant put on enough Armor to keep Gahid with his hammer away, especially when he's nestled behind a Mass Blessing and a few Breastplates of Power, not to mention with Loth in close support. Anyway, enjoy and maybe I'll show it to the world first hand on the Mega Tour...:)
