Warlord Decks on the Duck

My goodness ... only the second X0d deck! Hmm ... As was just mentioned, this one got more than a few groans when I pulled it out ... and a few more after more than a few of the matches.

Nikodemus can vouch for the effectiveness of this deck, when I had it together and was running it. (There was one blind spot in the person of an Uthanak player who just seemed to have my number, but I honestly feared no others while I was playing this.)

This deck is entirely about sticking whatever stuff you can find in your hand first turn on the King, and then flying him to the front that same turn to kill everything he could take aim at. It was not altogether unusual that this would happen with a Lady and one of the armors on X0d, and a few times I even got the one Stance on him as well. That made for some real quick and dirty games.

But if a game bogs down, there is also a bit of staying power in it. While it lacks healing, there's plenty more beefy goodness in Rac and the Duncans, who can be bulked up and sent forward as well. Kohn will heal nicely, the Toren speed the pace of deck development, and the Johans can really help hammer the point home when I have several monster characters on the front line.

Some things the deck would have benefitted from which I didn't have at the time - Duncan would obviously be dropped for Uthas. There is also some temptation to swap out the Ladys for Steel Mauls or 2-Handed Swords, or even - since it wasn't lacking cavalry - Lances. Could also have been helped by trading out Anandale's for similar reasons. Great Cleave would be well replaced with Bloodthirsty, or perhaps Bull Rush. And since the entire idea is truly the blitz, run out the 3xRevenge, 2xGuardian to start.
