Xod Rules

Mat Bowles’ UK nationals quarter finals deck

You know, looking back at the deck listing, I'm amazed I did as well as I did:)

Suffice to say, this deck is already much improved; getting hold of a Thunderhammer helped:)

And why did I put Dirge in there?
Starters
King Xod
2 Guardian
1 Stone, 1 Loner, 1 Faith
(changes to three Stone after the first game; people keep going for faith even after she's spent cos she's a cleric. Don't ask me why, but it's funny to watch. No cleric spells, but they don't know that, do they? :)

2 Loner
3 Dirge (Why? Why did I do it?)
2 Faith
2 Stone
2 Avalanche
2 Claw
2 Knowledge
1 Guardian
2 Alaric
3 Sky
2 Duncan (back-up)
1 Kohn (never used, will replace with Rac)

Total 30 Characters

Actions
3 Charge
3 Levelled
2 Great Cleave
2 Bar Fight
2 Loyalties Reward

Total 12 Actions

Items
1 Hand Axe
3 War Horse
2 Heavy Crossbow
3 Bruntor's Helm
2 Havat-Lahn Stance (why not 3 is beyond me, maybe I lost one and replaced the card by mistake)
1 Scale Mail
2 Breastplate of power
1 Bracer's of Ogre Power
1 King's Lady
1 Tome of Champions
1 Hember's Fist

Total 18 Items.

Idea is to get out the Xbows, follow up with Havat Lahn/ Bruntor's Helm on a level 2, and get stuck in while Xod waits for some kit. It worked remarkably well, has a decent character pool, but died to Rathe.

Don't believe in relying on one character, even if it is Xod. This is a game about armies led by Warlords, not Warlords using mooks as cannon fodder. Personal preference that; but it's also why I went for a bigger deck. Every turn, I play more characters, they get better thanks to Xod, and my deck is thinned, increasing the odds of me drawing the end game cards. As already mentioned, deck has already been changed; I'll also post the amended version when I’ve finished it.
