"The way you build a deck will depend upon a number of variables. Probably the most important are: What you want the deck to do, What environment you are playing in, and perhaps most importantly, What cards you have access to." 3) Card Pool It has been commented that good decks for this game need a large number of rare cards to be a success. This probably has an element of truth. There is no doubt that the more cards you have access to will improve the flexibility of your deck design. The question is, however, does this necessarily matter? Do you need to own every rare in the game in order to build the best deck? No; you do not. Some players can afford, and will attempt to achieve, a complete playset of the game. For those not familiar with the term, a playset will contain 3 copies of every card available in the game, so that if you feel your deck needs, for example, three copies of Mass Blessing, you can put it in. Others of us, on a more limited budget, will simply try and get hold of the cards we need to make effective decks. |
